I was reading Blonde`s last post about the ideia of Portugal to host the World Cup of 2018 with Spain when sudennly an aparently strange idea made all the sense...
Why not host the WC with Morroco? Comercialy better, showing to the world that is possible an European country and an African one cooperate for higher purposes than those regarding exploitation of our fellow brothers, very close for teams to move from one country to the other, and most of all a dam good world P R campaing for Portugal, even during the organization evaluation period it would be noticed world wide.
We could advertise our common history, the bonds between we the west european coast ; )and the North of Africa, adress the imigration problems, increase our economic and investment relations with the Royal Kingdom of Morroco, loved by the Arabs and by Europeans....well, a win-win situation, if the FPF doesnt have imagination (who cares about the spaniards?) why couldn´t we purpose it? Let´s pass the idea...

You call that a strange idea? I call it genius! Finally a country we could exploit all on our own for a change (it would be nice not to be the poor fellow for once in our lives!).
And besides which crazy terrorists would dare threaten a major world event if it were hosted by one of their own? Peace among nations with the Portuguese blessings! Skillful diplomats that's how the world would think of us. Just imagine us being invited to the permanent council of the UN... A new diplomatic power on the horizon...
And the profits? Larger and more plentiful than the sands of the Sahara! The Arab world and the West: just imagine those oil dollars and our euros and stirling pounds...
You said it Jedi. In you we trust!
